چکیده

Here we present a new paraconsistent logic, called quasi-classical logic (or QC logic) that allows the derivation of non-trivializable classical inferences. For this it is necessary that queries are in conjunc-tive normal form and the reasoning process is essentially that of clause nding. We present a proof-theoretic deenition, and semantics, and show that the consequence relation observes reeexivity, monotonicity and tran-sitivity, but fails cut and supraclassicality. Finally we discuss some of the advantages of this logic, over other paraconsistent logics, for applications in information systems.

Reasoning with contradictory information using quasi-classical logic

The proof theory of quasi-classical logic (QC logic) allows the derivation of non-trivializable classical inferences from inconsistent information. A non-trivializable, or paraconsistent, logic is, by necessity, a compromise, or weakening, of classical logic. The compromises on QC logic seem to be more appropriate than other paraconsistent logics for applications in computing. In particular, th...

Quasi-Classical Description Logic

In this paper, we present a paraconsistent description logic based on quasi-classical logic. Compared to the four-valued description logic, quasi-classical description logic satisfies all of the three basic inference rules (i.e., modus ponens, modus tollens and disjunctive syllogism) so that the inference ability of quasiclassical description logic is closer to that of classical logic. Quasicla...

Review and Classification of Modeling Approaches of Soil Hydrology Processes

To use soil hydrology processe (SHP) models, which have increasingly extended during the last years, comprehensive knowledge about these models and their modeling approaches seems to be necessary. The modeling approaches can be categorized as either classical or non-classical. Classical approaches mainly model the SHP through solving the general unsaturated flow (Richards) equation, numerically...

PROSE: A Plugin-Based Paraconsistent OWL Reasoner

The study of paraconsistent reasoning with ontologies is especially important for the Semantic Web since knowledge is not always perfect within it. Quasi-classical semantics is proven to rationally draw more meaningful conclusions even from an inconsistent ontology with the stronger inference power of paraconsistent reasoning. In our previous work, we have conceived a quasi-classical framework ...
